The **Mercury Luc** is a cool pocket knife, inspired by the classic hunting pocket knives from the 1960s. This one, however, is made from modern materials.




The Mercury Luc 9LUCEXSWALCV-C, Elmax, Green Canvas Micarta, pocket knife is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour green, black. With its blade length of 8,3 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 10,6 cm long, and it weighs 75 g.



You open the Mercury with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Blade made of Elmax steel
The blade of the Mercury Luc 9LUCEXSWALCV-C, Elmax, Green Canvas Micarta, pocket knife is made of Elmax. It's tough, easy to sharpen and has a very good sharpness retention. These features, in combination with the corrosion resistance, makes Elmax a great steel. Elmax is made by Uddeholm in Sweden.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.

Knife manufacturer Mercury was founded after World War II by Attilio Del Ben, in Maniago, Italy. Once upon a time, the company began by making stiletto knives and sleek pocket knives.
