The **Mercury Luc** is a cool pocket knife, inspired by the classic hunting pocket knives from the 1960s. This one, however, is made from modern materials.




The Mercury Luc 9LUCEXSWALBK-C, Elmax, Black Aluminium, pocket knife is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour black. With its blade length of 8,3 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 10,7 cm long, and it weighs 80 g.



You open the Mercury with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Blade made of Elmax steel
The blade of the Mercury Luc 9LUCEXSWALBK-C, Elmax, Black Aluminium, pocket knife is made of Elmax. It's tough, easy to sharpen and has a very good sharpness retention. These features, in combination with the corrosion resistance, makes Elmax a great steel. Elmax is made by Uddeholm in Sweden.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.



## Aluminium handle
The handle of the Mercury Luc is made from aluminium. The handle measures 10,7 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
