The **MKM Normar Knivesandtools Exclusive Olive Wood** is a bushcraft knife that is also great as an all-round outdoor knife, or for hunting or survival purposes. It was designed by Jesper Voxnaes, in collaboration with Knivesandtools! With this knife, we wanted to get the most out of this type of steel. That's why the edge has a scandi-grind, which is a first for LionSteel. The blade is long and thick enough to split a thick branch. In addition, the belly of the blade is great for food prep or for skinning hides. The sharp tip is great for cutting tasks that require precision. And at the pommel, the steel sticks out a bit, so you can also use this knife as a firestriker.

## Knivesandtools Exclusive

This MKM Normar was created through a collaboration between LionSteel (MKM), Jesper Voxnaes and Knivesandtools. A great knife with a fantastic price-quality ratio, exclusively available at Knivesandtools.

## Olive wood handle

The handle is made from olive wood. A stunning type of wood that gives the knife a very luxurious look and feel. Since olive wood is a natural material, each knife is unique.

## CPM 3V steel

CPM 3V is an incredibly strong and tough type of steel. But of course, we also extensively tested (i.e. abused) this knife. We wrangled in through wood, split thick branches and rammed on the knife hard. And it could handle it all! It was only after this knife had passed our inspection that we had a larger number of these knives produced by MKM and LionSteel. CPM 3V retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. You do need to be careful with acids, salt and moisture: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. It may form a patina over time. Or even rust, if you don't maintain it well. Fortunately, a little bit of oil goes a long way.

## Premium leather sheath
The MKM Normar comes with a black leather sheath with press-stud. As we have come to expect from LionSteel, the quality is excellent. The sheath features MOLLE webbing, making it MOLLE-compatible and allowing you to easily attach it to a tactical backpack.

Ein sehr schönes Messer. Da die Stärke der Klinge "nur" 2,8 mm beträgt und die angeschliffene Fase relativ hoch ist, schneidet dieses Messer wie der Teufel. ;-) 
Einzig bei der gut verarbeiteten Lederscheide muss man aufpassen. Die Befestigungsschlaufe mit Druckknopf kann bei unvorsichtiger Handhabung des Messers sehr schnell angeschnitten, bzw. sogar durchtrennt werden. Ich werde mir von einem Fachmann eine Verstärkung der Schlaufe erstellen lassen, damit sollte das Problem behoben sein.
Für 200.-€ ein ansprechender Preis für dieses wunderschöne Messer. Ich kann es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Ik heb al verschillende Lionsteel en MKM messen en telkens is de kwaliteit uitmuntend. Mooi afgewerkt, degelijk vakmanschap, goede materialen,...
En ja, je betaalt natuurlijk voor deze kwaliteit...

Ik heb dit mes gekocht voor het lichtere bushcraft- en kampeerwerk.
Waarom het lichtere werk? Is dit mes dan niet voldoende stevig?
Nee, helemaal niet. Je kan dit mes zeker gebruiken om bijvoorbeeld hout te splijten. Het is een premium staal en een full tang constructie.
Maar waar het mes voor mij persoonlijk vooral in uitblinkt zijn de snijtaken. Het is vlijmscherp en, door de ronde buik, is het echt een plezier om ermee te snijden. Ik gebruik het dus vooral voor het bereiden van eten tijdens het kamperen.
Ook feathersticks of tentpinnen maken gaat er super vlot mee.

Het handvat is heel mooi afgewerkt en licht goed in de hand.

De achterkant van het mes is voorzien van een stukje staal dat niet afgerond is zodat je het met een firesteel kan gebruiken. (En dat werk prima. Je houdt je mes vast en trekt aan de firesteel.)

Tot slot nog een woordjes over het foedraal. Ook deze is mooi vervaardigd uit dik leer. Het enige "nadeel" is dat het in het begin heel hard spant. Vooral de sluiting moest zich even zetten.
Geen probleem natuurlijk. Het mes moet gewoon een week of 2 in het foedraal zitten alvorens het leer zich helemaal gezet heeft. Maar dan past het ook als gegoten en zit het mes permanent heel goed vast. Exact wat nodig is als je een meer in de "wildernis" aan het wandelen bent en je je mes niet wil verliezen bij een beklimming, afdaling of als je eens uitglijdt. 

Beautiful knife, razor sharp edge from factory. Didn't use much yet, but looks promising. I would prefer a longer handle with wider end, but my hands are bigger than average.

Beau couteau avec une forme de lame assez originale, très tranchant, manche bien en main. Etui en cuir sympa mais pas de passant pour le mettre en ceinturon.
