This *WMF bamboo cutting board* is a large, practical cutting board. You can use both sides of this cutting board because it doesn't have feet. One side is enhanced with a slot at the edge. This slot can, for instance, hold moisture that is released as you cut your ingredients. As such your counter top or table cloth won't become dirty. The cutting board is made of bamboo, a sustainable and hard type of wood. 

## Cleaning your cutting board

To make sure your cutting board stays in great shape you need to maintain it! Fortunately this isn't as much work as you might think. Clean the board after use by holding it under a tap and then dry it with a towel. The cutting board is not dishwasher safe! Place the board upright (or hang it) to make sure it dries properly.

## Adding oil to your cutting board

Wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. To make sure the cutting board stays in great shape we recommend adding a coat of oil before use. It makes the cleaning process easier, the wood won't dry out, and it ensures that scratches are less visible. It is best to use a flavourless and fragrance-less oil. Almond or grape seed oil, for instance. (Please note: we do not recommend using almond oil if you are allergic to nuts). White mineral oil is also possible, but we recommend using [Eden cutting board oil](/en/pt/-eden-essentials-mineral-oil-for-wooden-cutting-boards-120-ml.htm). Don't use olive oil because it will become sticky. Of course, you'd want to avoid this. Add a coat of oil once every month.
