The Rick Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Slicer is a solid pocket knife, made to be used. A top-quality work knife. The finish is simply perfect; grip wherever you might need it and curved wherever possible. As such it feels amazing in hand. When opened, the flipper keeps your fingers away from the edge. So during the more demanding cutting jobs, you never have to worry about slipping and ending up on the blade. The slicer blade is made from CPM 20CV steel with a black DLC coating. CPM 2 CV is a premium type of powdered steel, which means that the structure of the steel is very fine. As such it stays sharp for a very long time. 20CV is also corrosion resistant. In between the flipper and the edge you can find a finger choil. This allows you to have more control over the blade during the more precise cutting tasks.
