The **Rick Hinderer XM-18, 3.5" Recurve Tri-way Stonewash Blue G10"** is a rock-solid pocket knife, made to be used. It's a top-quality work knife. The finish is simply perfect; grip wherever you might need it and curved wherever possible. It feels amazing in hand. When opened, the flipper keeps your fingers away from the edge. During more demanding cutting jobs you won't have to worry about slipping and cutting yourself on the sharp edge.

The recurve blade is made of CPM 20CV steel, a premium powder steel, which means the steel has a very fine grain. As a result, it retains its sharpness for a very long time. CPM 20CV is also corrosion resistant. Between the flipper and the edge you can find a finger choil. This allows you to have more control over the blade during the more precise cutting tasks. 

You open the XM18 with the (double) thumb studs, or with the flipper. This is the newest generation of XM18's with the Tri-Way-Pivot system. The knife is enhanced with ball bearings, but you also receive bronze and teflon washers so you can decide which bearings system you prefer. There is also a steel lockbar insert which makes the lock even more durable.

When opened, a solid frame lock ensures that the blade stays in place. A distinctive Hinderer feature is the lockbar stabilizer, a round disc on the side of the titanium handle. It ensures that you cannot overstretch the lock. You can always keep the XM18 handy thanks to the titanium pocket clip. This tip-down pocket clip is mounted on the right side, but with a Phillips-head screwdriver you can easily turn it into a tip-up.

The Rick Hinderer philosophy is as follows: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. That's why Hinderer knives are made to be used. This XM18 is the perfect example.
