The **Otter Mercator 10-440 RG** is a practical, relatively large multi-tool. The tools included are a bottle opener, awl, corkscrew and a knife. The handle is made from stainless steel, the tools from C75 carbon steel.

## C75 carbon steel tools

The tools are made from C75, a type of carbon steel. Do keep in mind that this type of steel will create a patina in time. This is a blue-grey colour that will make the knife look even more characteristic. This type of steel is not corrosion resistant. You open the tools with the help of a nail nick. When opened the blade is locked by a backlock. The other tools are kept in place by a slipjoint. The handle is made from stainless steel.

## Traditional, handmade Otter knives

The **Otter** knives are traditionally produced in Solingen. To this day, they are carefully handmade and sharpened. The range includes knives for recreational, household, garden and outdoor use. There are multiple versions of every Otter knife. For example, different types of steel are used, such as carbon steel or German stainless steel. We also see differences in the handle materials, often natural products such as deer bone or hardwood.
