The **KME Gold Series 6x1" Fine diamond sharpening stone, 600 grit** is a medium/fine sharpening stone to sharpen your knives and to maintain that sharpness. Keep in mind that 600 grit American standard (ANSI) corresponds to 1100 grit Japanese standard (JIS). ## KME 6x1" sharpening stones

The length of these sharpening stones makes them suitable for the KME Precision Control Plus 6 Professional Knife Sharpening System. This diamond-coated sharpening stone comprises a metal sheet that contains small synthetic diamonds. Diamond is very hard which means that diamond-coated sharpening stones quickly remove material. Don't apply too much pressure! The diamonds are placed in a layer of nickel. If you sharpen too hard you push the diamonds out of the sharpening stone.
