## Karesuando Kniven: traditional Scandinavian knives
Karesuando Kniven has been producing traditional hunting knives and axes since 1975. This is done in a small village in the northernmost point of Sweden. By adhering to old tradition, using top material and producing by hand, Karesuando creates a sturdy and unique masterpiece with each knife.

Natürlich gibt es günstigere Alternativen oder exquisitere Beile, aber...

Dieses Beil ist ein guter Kompromiss: es ist für den Gebrauch nicht zu Schade und ist trotzdem ein Blickfang.
Das Beil macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck, der Buchenschaft fühlt sich besser an als alles an Hickoryschäften was ich bis jetzt in den Händen hielt. Die Textur ist griffig. Aufgrund des Auges lässt sich der Schaft bestimmt schnell durch einen Stiel aus dem Baumarkt ersetzen.
Ich nutze es als Beil für Anzündholz und für Grobarbeiten beim Schnitzen, als Trekkingbeil macht es, aufgrund der Maße und des Gewichts, bestimmt auch ein gute Figur. Für das zerkloppen von Bauholz oder Sperrmüll ist definitiv zu schade.
Die Symbolik der Sami erinnert einen an Schamanentrommeln oder Fatmomakke...
Ich haben den Stiel noch mit dem Casstrom Overstrike Guard für Beile, hier im Shop erhältlich, ausgestattet, welcher trotz der Griffkontur gut und fest anliegt. -Auch beim Federstippen machen praktisch, auch wenn jetzt der Gürtelhalter nicht mehr schließt. Da nicht regelmäßig durch die Vildmark laufe, ist dies egal.
Zur Schnitthaltigkeit kann ich noch nichts sagen, die Werksschärfe war schwedisch-scharf...
