These **Flytanium Victorinox Cadet Scales** are great after-market accessories for the Victorinox Cadet. They are well-fitting scales made by the experts at Flytanium.

Installing these scales is quite complex. The Alox scales of the Cadet are secured with pins. First you need to drill out the head of the pins to remove the scales. This is possible with a steel drill or dremel. Before you do this: make sure the knife is properly secured in a vice. As such you make sure the knife won't slip when you drill into it. The packaging contains three 'hinge screws'. You use these to replace the pins that Victorinox uses. Use a Torx T6 bit to mount the scales.

The scales are made from copper It has been enhanced with a stonewashed finish. This means that there are already traces of use to make sure new scratches won't stand out. A used look, straight from the box. Take into account that copper will form a patina in time which makes each set unique.

## Tips for installation

Adding new scales or other accessories is not without its risks! To prevent damage to screws and scales, always use suitable screwdrivers and never force anything. We like to add a little piece of plastic bag in between the bit and the screw to help prevent any damage to the screws. If the screws are stuck, it is important not to force them. Carefully heat them with a hairdryer or tap the back of the screwdriver to break the loctite.

Before you start tinkering, always check the manufacturer's warranty conditions: for some brands, the warranty expires the moment you start working on the knife yourself. Installing scales is at your own risk. We are not liable for damages that you may cause to the knife or the accessory.
