This black **Combekk Sous Chef frying pan** has a diameter of 28 cm. The pan, including the two handles, is completely made from 100% recycled cast iron. It is enhanced with an enamel coating and is free from PFAS, PFOA and PTFE.

This solid cast-iron pan is very versatile.​ Cooking, roasting, baking, stewing or even frying: it is all possible. Cast-iron can retain heat, but also cold, for a very long time. As such the pan is also great to keep dishes cool or frozen in the fridge or freezer. Once cooled the pan could, for instance, be used as a serving dish on hot summer's day. Instead of one handle this frying pan is enhanced with two cast iron handles. As such the pan also fits nicely in the oven.

## What makes Combekk even more unique!

The even enamel finish ensures a very smooth surface, making cleaning the pan very easy. The cast-iron makes the perfect distribution of heat a possibility. This results in a perfect preparation of food where the natural flavour and vitamins are maintained. The pans can be used on all cooking hobs but isn't microwave-safe. Because of the round base dirt cannot accumulate.

## 100% recycled material

At Combekk they make sure the pans are completely made from recycled materials. When producing their pans Combekk always looks for the most sustainable way of producing. For this pan from the Sous Chef collection it means that it is completely made from recycled waste from steel factories. 

## Pans with no PFAS, PFOA or PTFE

The abbreviation PFAS stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. These are man-made substances that do not naturally occur in the environment. Some examples of PFAS are GenX, PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acids). PFAS is an umbrella term for all these substances, which are used in many products, including frying pans, grill pans and wok pans. PFAS have useful properties: among other things, they are repellent to water, grease and dirt. However, we now know that PFAS are harmful to health.

Teflon is the commercial name for various plastic fluoropolymers, such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). PFAS is used to make these plastic fluoropolymers. Teflon provides the product with a water-repellent and dirt-repellent layer and it is also heat-resistant. PTFE also allows two surfaces to slide over each other easily. That is why PTFE can be found in pans with a non-stick coating. In other words: they're all the same thing. **This pan is free from PFAS, PFOA and PTFE**. You can use this pan to cook with complete peace of mind.
