The **Case Small Congress** is a traditional and extremely compact pocket knife with a distinctive curved handle.




You open the Case Knives with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made of Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless steel that is actually the same as 420HC steel. This steel allows for fast sharpening, making it easy to maintain a sharp edge.



The blade has been polished, this is a premium blade finish that leaves no room for error. A polished blade ensures minimal friction while cutting, making the knife cut like a dream.



## Micarta handle

The handle of this Case Knives Small Congress, Smooth Black Micarta is made of micarta and measures 7,8 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.

The Congress pattern has been around since the early 19th century. These knives often feature four blades: two on each side of the handle, meeting in the middle, just like the US Congress. Nowadays, Congress knives are also made with two or six blades.
