The **Skerper Professional sharpening stone grain 5000** is a sharpening stone that will help you sharpen your knives for razor-sharp results. Grain 5000 is an ultra-fine grain size with which you make sure your sharp knives become even sharper. Are your knives blunt? Opt for a coarser Skerper Professional sharpening stone.

This Skerper Professional sharpening stone offers you better results, for a great price. It is produced in Japan by a renowned manufacturer. The Skerper Professional sharpening stones are synthetic resin bound. As such they are rock-solid and quick. Sharpening on these stones will be a great experience. ## How do you use a Skerper Professional sharpening stone?

Before use you need to submerge the stone in water. You submerge the stone completely and wait about five minutes. Or until you no longer see bubbles coming from the stone. Before you start sharpening place the stone on a (not included) universal sharpening stone holder. The less the stone comes into contact with the surface, the less the water will be sucked through the stone. This is especially key for the 220 stone because the water quickly soaks through the coarse grain.

Make sure the surface of the stone remains wet during use. If it is not the results will be disappointing, and it can even damage the stone. Sharpen the knife on one side until you feel a burr over the entire length of the edge. Now sharpen the other side of the edge until you feel another burr. Now you need to lightly move the edge over the stone to carefully remove the burr. Do you no longer feel the burr? If so you can switch to a finer stone.

Für „normale“ Stähle gut, für PM Stähle meiner Meinung nach zu weich…

Mooie maar delicate steen. Prima prijs-kwaliteits verhouding. Wel behandelen met aandacht en bijna zonder druk slijpen. De grens van slijpen en in de steen snijden ligt dicht bij elkaar. Boven de 4000 korrel moet de slijpdruk altijd vrij laag zijn en je moet met een vaste hand het mes in de juiste hoek slijpen;. En je met is (als het goed is) natuurlijk al vrij scherp; echter het valt bij deze steen op dat je mes vrij snel hapt in de steen. Als je de slijpdruk en de slijphoek vasthoudt geeft ze wel een heel mooi polijstend resultaat. Ik gebruik de steen als voorbehandeling van het stroppen. Daarvoor voldoet ze uitstekend.

De aanvulling op de set van Skerper (180 600 en 1000 3000 grit) is mijn eerste 5000 grit steen en compleet anders dan de vorige. De steen is een stuk zachter dus opletten dat je niet het mes in de steen vastzet. De messen worden mooi gepolijst met deze steen. Verzorging van de bestelling is zoals altijd bij K&T prima.
