The **Rough Ryder Barlow** is a cool, traditional pocket knife. A real barlow, with two blades: a clippoint as a 'main blade' and a smaller pen blade. You open this knife with two hands and a slipjoint prevents accidental closing. As such you can legally carry this pocket knife in many places in Europe.

## 440A steel

440A is a fine, popular type of steel. It is corrosion resistant and easy to sharpen. It won't retain its sharpness for a really long time, but this is compensated by the fact that 440A is quite tough and easy to sharpen. This means you only occasionally have to maintain it a little to make sure you always keep a sharp knife close.

## Buckshot Bone handle

The handle is made from 'Jigged Bone'. This is basically cow bone that is enhanced with an interesting texture and colour. Bone, of course, is a natural material. As such small differences in terms of colour and shape, or any other small imperfections may occur. In this case the texture is a 'buckshot'. . When you look at the pattern on the handle you know why.

Rough Ryder Knives is a brand with a rich history. For over 25 years this brand is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. Like Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Ryders these knives were named after, these knives are ready to be used. The prices are very appealing. However, this does mean that the finish might not always be perfect. Nothing major, and definitely in line with the prices. In case of natural materials such as wood, bone and horn it is possible to end up with small scratches around the pins. It is simply a part of the deal in this price range.

Tenía muchas ganas de comprar una navaja tipo Barlow, pero muchas de las que están disponibles en el mercado son de precio elevado. Esta navaja parecía bonita, y tenía un precio muy bueno. Temía que su calidad fuese mala, pero me he quedado gratamente sorprendido. Viene muy bien presentada para un producto de su precio, está bien afilada, no hay defectos en el acabado y es muy bonita. La relación calidad-precio me parece excelente, a la espera de ver cómo retiene el filo el acero empleado. 

I really wanted to buy a Barlow type knife, but many of the ones available on the market are expensive. This knife looked nice, and was very well priced. I was afraid that its quality would be poor, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It is very well presented for a product of its price, it is well sharpened, there are no defects in the finish and it is very pretty. The value for money seems excellent to me, waiting to see how the steel used retains its edge.
