The Opinel pocket knife with wooden handle. Manufactured in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, this handy knife was originally designed for use by local farmers. The Opinel pocket knife is a renowned, yet really affordable pocket knife, ideal for everyday use. It is available in a variety of sizes ranging from small to fairly large.  
  


The larger models feature the simple yet effective Virobloc safety twistlock mechanism, which allows the blade to be locked in both the open and the closed positions. This pocket knife is a classic in the true sense of the word.  
  


This model is specially designed for children. It features a rounded edge for added safety. But remember, the blade still has a sharp edge!

This knife is well made for the money.  I do love the traditional style of the knife.  It has a very fine blade which makes it extremely sharp and excellent for slicing however it has showed signs of damage to the alignment of the sharp edge following my son using it to pare sticks.   Happy with the knife overall. 

Mooi kindermes om te leren omgaan met een mes. Het is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling maar voor deze prijs doet het verliezen van het mes ook niet te veel pijn. Wel zorgen dat het mes bij opbergen goed droog is aangezien het mes niet tegen water en vocht kan! Op internet staan trouwens mooie handleidingen voor het gebruik van zakmessen. 

Don't be put off by it being named "Children's Knife". It is an extremely handy knife to take with you when you plan to prepare food away from home. It is sharp and cuts well and a round tip is convenient for preparing sandwiches. 

Voor kind en volwassenen, voor het snijden van je appel of de camembert op je stokbrood, het ideale mesje voor op reis. Ligt goed in de hand en snijdt als de beste.
