The LionSteel M3 model is the older brother of the M2. It is the ideal knife for those with big hands. Its relatively wide blade gives it a tough and robust appearance. Its also has a high-quality finish. The grooved pattern in the wood scales, which is so typical of LionSteel, not only improves grip but is also really decorative. It comes with a beautifully-designed leather sheath that protects the blade. LionSteel always takes into account the wishes of knife lovers and this is borne out by the fact that this little gem was designed in collaboration with members of the Italian knife forum, MCKF.   
  
 

The full tang blade is made from Niolox steel. It features ridges for extra grip and easy manipulation when cutting. The handle is made of santos wood.

This is the sixth Lionsteel I have bought, along with a T5, M4, SR11, TM1 and KUR - they are all fabulous. The M3 has a beautiful and generous machined wood handle, comes in an excellent brown leather sheath and, at a shade over £100 is half the price you'd expect to pay for such quality.

Erster Eindruck ist gut. Hervorragend verarbeitetes Messer. Das Messer ist schön und erfüllt seinen Zweck. Einige schnitz und hackarbeiten habe ich schon durgeführt, und bin vollumfänglich zufrieden. Der Griff liegt gut in der Hand, und trotz der breiten Klimge, lassen sich auch etwas feinere schnitzarbeiten durchführen. Einziges Manko ist die Lederscheide. Sie sitzt zu hoch am Gürtel, und der Druckknopf um das Messer zu sichern stört. Mit der Zeit wird der Lederriemen durchgeschnitten wären das Messer gezogen oder in die Scheide gesteckt wird. Eine tiefersitzende Steckscheide hätte mir mehr entsprochen.
