The **Fox Black Fox Explorator FOBF-749** is an outdoor knife, designd by Alfredo Doricchi. As the name already suggests the Explorator is made for adventurers and very versatile. Think of building shelter for the night. Or a fire, with the included firesteel. You name it, the Explorator can do it.



The blade is made from decent 440C steel. A stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well, but is also easy to sharpen. The handle is made from stylish micarta and offers a lot of grip. Nicely rounded for a comfortable grip. You can carry the Explorator in the kydex sheath from your belt.

Nice cheap practical knife in 440c which is still plenty good enough for general use. Nice comfortable handle in my XL hands with room to spare. Kydex sheath has good retention but a negative is that when you place your thumb on the sheath to release the knife the sheath opens up then once the knife is free it can close up on your thumb. No big deal and for the price it's a great do it all cheap knife. I have many more expensive knifes which are less comfortable!!. Also conside the QSP CANARY which in the same price range and also pretty good if not a tad better.

Das Messer ist als Budget-messer kaum schlagbar. Natürlich ist bei diesem Preis kein 100% perfektes Finnish zu erwarten. Als Bushcraftmesser taugt es, da es sehr gut schnitzt und schneidet. Jedoch ist es für harte Arbeiten nicht zu empfehlen, obwohl es Fulltang ist. Heute ist mir beim Batonieren die Spitze erst verbogen und beim "Rettungsversuch" abgebrochen, da diese ziemlich fein ist. Ich denke nicht, dass es die Schuld des Messer ist, sondern meine, weil man bei so einer feinen Spitze damit rechnen muss.
Ich würde es mir wieder kaufen, aber vorsichtig mit dem Messer sein.
