The **Fällkniven Sk2 Embla** is a stunning hunting knife. As a starting point for this design Fällkniven worked with a minimalist basis design. Really Swedish. They combined this with stunning materials and a great finish.

 Fällkniven designed this hunting knife to gut larger game. Think of wild boar, deer and moose. Of course it is then important that your knife remains sharp. So that you don't have to pull out a sharpening stone from your pocket halfway through. For that reason Fällkniven made the blade of the Sk2 Embla from laminated CoS-steel. It is a stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is also easy to sharpen. The core of the blade is made from this hard CoS-steel. On both sides the blade is flanked by layers of softer stainless steel. They make the blade a little more flexible and stronger.

 As you have grown accustomed to from a fixed Fällkniven knife the Sk2 Embla has a convex edge. This means that the edge emerges in one convex line from the side of the blade, instead of the conventional V-edge you see on almost all other knives. This convex edge is slightly stronger and also offers less cutting resistance. By stropping it you keep the Sk2 Embla razor-sharp.

 The handle of the Fällkniven Sk2 Embla is made from a block of desert ironwood. A hard and heavy type of wood from the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico. Desert ironwood has a nice pattern, and each knife is unique. Fällkniven explicitly indicates that every type of wood, including desert ironwood, can expand or shrink because of differences in circumstances. It is part of the knife and doesn't apply to the warranty conditions.

 The Fällkniven Sk2 Embla comes with a leather dangler sheath. It can move nicely in relation to the belt loop, making it very comfortable to carry.

Ik kocht dit mes na het lezen van verschillende positieve reviews.   Ik was al ih bezit van de fallkniven s1 vg10 en f1 3g en de f1x cos.  
Waar de f1x vooral opvalt door zijn gewicht en toch niet zo goed liggend handvat,  valt het bij de embla heel erg op hoe licht en beter dit in de hand ligt.   Altans in mijn handen.  
Dit mes komt zeer scherp out of the box! Door het lagere gewicht vermoed ik dat the tang minder zwaar of vol is dan die van de f1x die over het volledige handvat zichtbaar blijft en volledig vol is.   Al bij al een deglelijk en prachtig mes.

Und es kommt wirklich Rasiermesser scharf. 

Wat een prachtig mes! het ontwerp is strak en mooi in balans. Het hout heeft een mooie, diepe glans en is uitzonderlijk scherp.  Formaat is precies goed en ligt uiterst goed in de hand. Prijs/kwaliteit is uitzonderlijk.
Veel mooie woorden, maar het mes verdient het.

The Fällkniven Embla is an absolute treasure knife. It‘s beautiful AND functional for any task. I highly recommend the Embla.
