The **WMF Grand Gourmet Damasteel utility knife** is a small kitchen knife with exclusive damascus steel. Thanks to its small blade, it's perfect for cutting meat, fruit, vegetables and herbs. ## WMF Damasteel blade

The blade is made from 120-layered damascus steel. Damascus steel is comprised of many layers of steel that are forged on top of each other. Afterwards the steel is modified, exposing those layers. The damask for this particular kitchen knife was made by Damasteel. A Swedish manufacturer of damascus steel. It is the only commercial manufacturer of damascus steel that uses two types of powder steel to produce its damascus steel. The result is a combination of the best performances with stunning looks. 

## WMF Damasteel handle

The convex shape of the handle provides a comfortable grip for both the 'hammer grip' and the 'pinch grip'. The handle is made of Cromargan®. This is the registered trademark of WMF's 18/10 stainless steel, since 1927. A type of steel that, in addition to kitchen knives, is also used for their fancy cutlery. The name Cromargan® is a compound of the terms Crom and Argan. Crom, because the steel has a particularly high chromium content, and Argan because of its silvery shine. The advantages of this material are: it is stainless, scratch-resistant and highly resistant to acid discolouration. What more could a cooking enthusiast ask for?
