The **WMF ceramic combination sharpening stone** is a double-sided ceramic sharpening stone which you can use to quickly sharpen all your knives. As such, with this sharpening stone, you actually get two sharpening stones for the price of one. One coarse side to give a dull knife a straight edge again and one side to sharpen the knife back to razor-sharpness.

## WMF sharpening stone grit size

The sharpening stone is made from white aluminium oxide. The blue side of the combination sharpening stone has a grain size of 360F and the white side has a grain size of 1000F. The F stands for FEPA-F, the European standard. In comparison to a Japanese sharpening stone, this sharpening stone has a grain size of 500 grit and 3000 grit. ## Using the sharpening stone

You need to submerge this stone in water before use. When every little bubble of air has disappeared, the stone is ready for use. Make sure the stone stays wet as you use it. Have you finished sharpening? After use, allow the stone to dry at room temperature. Don't place it in the hot sun, or on a heater! This could cause cracks.
