The **Shizu Hamono Shikisai Miyako Bessaku santoku 18 cm** is a stylish and versatile Japanese kitchen knife. A santoku is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. The knife is perfect for chopping vegetables, meat, fish, onion, garlic and various types of herbs.

## Shizu Hamono Shikisai Miyako Bessaku hammered damascus steel

The blade is made from 33-layered stainless damascus steel, with a core of tough AUS-8 steel, which is also stainless. This combination ensures that the knives are razor-sharp, stainless and stunning. This type of steel is easy to sharpen.

The blade has a hammered finish. In Japanese, this finish is called Tsuchime. It is a traditional and artisanal Japanese finish originally created by the blacksmith's hammer.

## Shizu Hamono Shikisai Miyako Bessaku handle

The round handle is made from pakka wood. This is a wood and resin composite that is wear and tear resistant. The dark colour and matt finish are a nice contrast to the polished blade. The handle is not dishwasher-safe. Wash the knife by hand immediately after use, and then dry it well. Keep the wood in optimal condition by regularly oiling the handle with a mineral oil.
