The **Mujun Sekiso nakiri** is a stylish, lightweight Japanese kitchen knife. The nakiri can be found in almost every Japanese kitchen. A nakiri is a traditional Japanese vegetable knife. You can recognize a nakiri by its rectangular blade with rounded tip. You use the knife primarily for cutting large vegetables such as carrots, courgettes and cabbages. Thanks to the rounded tip, this knife is also ideal for finely cutting herbs. You can then use the high blade to scoop up all the finely chopped ingredients.

Mujun kitchen knives are made and sharpened by hand. As a result, the finish of each knife differs slightly and each knife has a unique character!

## Mujun Sekiso Damascus AUS-10 steel blade

The blade is made from Damascus steel and a core of AUS-10 steel. This is a stainless steel that is produced by Aichi Steel, in the Japanese city of Tokai. The AUS-10 steel has a hardness of 61 HRC, which makes the knife super sharp and also gives it great sharpness retention. The Damascus steel not only looks elegant, but it also improves the corrosion resistance. Despite its hardness, AUS-10 steel is easy to sharpen if the knife starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Mujun Sekiso magnolia wood and buffalo horn handle

The traditional octagonal handle is made from magnolia wood. This type of wood is light in colour and also light in weight. The crop, which provides balance, is made from buffalo horn. A graceful and functional combination. Please take into account that wood and horn are natural products. The product you receive may differ with regard to pattern and colour. The materials used remain the same.

## Mujun kitchen knives: complex simplicity

Mujun is a collective made up of designers and young craftsmen who specialize in making knives. They live and work in the outer areas of Japan where traditional artisanal work still exists. Mujun protects old crafts, working with young apprentices to carry these crafts forward and improve them where possible. The knives are made in Hyogo, Japan.
