The **MKM Fara** is a modern slipjoint, designed by Lucas Burnley. The Fara offers you an elegant combination between classic features such as the familiar slipjoint, but is, at the same time, complemented by a top-quality finish and sleek, modern lines.

 Designer Burnley gave the blade a clippoint-like shape. On the presentation side the blade has been enhanced with a large groove that offers you enough traction to neatly open the knife with two hands. MKM chose Böhler M390 steel for this knife. This is a type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is incredibly wear-resistant. It is also very stainless. One of the most popular choices at the moment. When opened a slipjoint will neatly keep it open. And yet you can still easily close it: it only offers resistance, not a lock. As such you can legally carry it with you almost anywhere.

 MKM selected olive wood for the handle of this version. A stunning Mediterranean type of wood that gives the knife classy look and feel. The coloured collar around the pivot is remarkable for a knife such as this and gives it a modern look and feel.

 The MKM Fare comes in a leather sheath with belt loop. The leather is nice and supply to make sure you can also carry it as a slip sheath in your pocket.

 ## Where does MKM Knives come from?

 MKM is a cooperation between Viper, LionSteel, Fox and Mercury. Four masters working in the Italian knife industry. It is no coincidence that they all come from the city: Maniago, northern Italy. The knife capital of the south of Europe. MKM stands for Maniago Knife Makers. This MKM Fara is made by Mercury.

Fraai mes, gemaakt met mooie materialen. Hoewel het mes prettig in de hand maakt de vorm van het handvat dat je hand naar achteren schuif, waardoor mn pink er vanaf valt. Wellicht is een lanyard hier een oplossing voor. 

Couteau de belle présentation, bien fini, léger. Mais la pointe de la lame est trop fine, pas assez matière, et peu se plier trop facilement. 

Prachtig mes, precies zoals omschreven. Ik wilde graag een EDC die niet zo eenvoudig te openen is. Ik draag hem ook op kantoor en dat fronst al voldoende wenkbrauwen helaas. 

Werd in een mooie verpakking met hele fraaie leren hoes geleverd. Dacht de hoes niet te gaan gebruiken, maar omgedraaid in de broekzak (met het lipje naar buiten) draagt deze erg fraai vind ik. Mes was vlijmscherp geslepen en hoefde geen verdere aandacht.

Toch wat punten om op te letten, die niet meteen kritiekpunten zijn:

* het houten handvat bleek na navraag gestabiliseerd hout te zijn. Ik kende dit niet, maar de reden om voor een houten handvat te kiezen voor mij was dat deze met het gebruik en goed onderhoud een hele mooie patina opbouwt. Gestabiliseerd hout is zodanig behandeld dat het zich zowat als plastic gedraagt, niks op neemt en geen onderhoud vergt. Op zich niks mis mee, maar niet wat ik zocht.

* ik ben een beetje teleurgesteld over de kwaliteit van het staal en hoe lang het zijn scherpte behoud. Het is mijn eerste m390 mes dus ik heb geen vergelijk. Ik gebruik hem ook bepaald niet om alleen dozen mee te openen. Zo heb ik afgelopen weekend nog een paar keer een potlood geslepen en 15 zakken cement open gesneden. Dit was voldoende om het tot dan toe scherpe mes goed bot te krijgen. Eigenlijk niet veel beter dan mijn goedkopere Sanremu mes met 8CR14Mov staal.

Bonnes infos sur le site permettant de faire un bon choix. Livraison rapide. Très satisfait.

Un slipjoint de gentleman au design agréable. 
Un très bon acier. 
Le "walk and talk" est franc et claque bien.
Bois des plaquettes (olivier) pourrait avoir été mieux sélectionné, il est pas mauvais mais il y a tellement plus joli dans cette essence.
