The Laguiole en Aubrac Le Perlé is a modern incarnation of the classic Laguiole knife. The blade is made from Sandvik 12C27 steel. This is a popular stainless steel that is easy to sharpen. The handle is made from white bone. This is a very strong material that has long been used for tool handles. It is still used today not only because it is very hard, but primarily because it looks beautiful. The name 'Le Perlé' comes from the round engravings that have been filed into the handle by hand.
