The **Farfalli Vaja S020.OL Olive Wood** is a stylish, Italian sommelier knife with a handle of stunning olive wood. This sommelier knife includes a bottle opener, capsule cutter and a corkscrew with a double-hinged mechanism. Thanks to this mechanism, the cork is always removed perfectly vertically, significantly reducing the risk of the cork crumbling or breaking.

## Farfalli Vaja

Developed in collaboration with Claudio Burato and the Italian Sommelier Association of Veneto, the Farfalli Vaja became the official corkscrew of the 53rd AIS National Congress in 2019. The corkscrew is named after the storm that devastated the forests of the Veneto Dolomites in autumn 2018 (the Vaia storm). Proceeds from the sale of this innovative corkscrew during the AIS Veneto Congress were used to support recovery work in the affected mountain areas.

## Farfalli Vaja materials

The Farfalli Vaja is made of stainless steel with a handle made of olive wood. The capsule cutter and spiral are made of hardened, stainless AISI 420 steel for additional durability. The lever is made of stainless steel with a nice, satin finish. 

## Gebruik Farfalli sommelier knife

Remove any dust or moisture on the outside of the bottle to prevent slipping. Then use the capsule cutter to cut away the capsule around the neck. Put the bottle on the table, place the spiral in the centre of the cork and twist it gently. Don't turn the spiral down too far! This might cause the cork to tear. Instead, place the lever on the rim of the bottle and gently pull out the cork. With 2-step sommelier knives, you will then place the second part of the lever around the neck of the bottle to remove the cork in its entirety.
