The handle is made from a sustainable plastic named Grilon. The length ridges don't offer you additional grip but do make the PC look very characteristic. Below the Grilon scales you will find steel liners for additional strength.

The expected Fjällkniven quality. Really nice knive. Especially the disassemble-feature with the thumbpin for singlehanded use is super handy. Unfortunately though the knife is to small to be opened nice with one hand. Therefore I sent it back...
