Very nice tool. Light enough to carry and fun to use. I did quite a bit of work to mine to tune it up. It came a little blunt and I had to reprofile the edge to make it cut well. The handle comes varnished and gave me blisters so I scraped it off and treated it with linseed oil. It’s now a good chopper but I do still prefer an axe because it’s a little too thin to be a good splitter and the straight handle is harder to hold on to than the fawn foot of an axe. One nice thing you can do is leave the handle at home and make your own when you’re in the woods to cut down on packing weight. I sharpened the tempered part under the beard so I can hold it like a knife and use it to carve a handle.
