The **Bark River Puukko** is a cool American interpretation of the classic Scandinavian Puukko knife. Striking about the Puukko is the way the blade runs so smoothly through the handle. Because of the shape of the handle you can hold the Puukko in many different ways. As such you can use it for various bushcraft techniques.

 The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can [maintain by stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

 The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.

 The Bark River Puukko comes with a nice leather belt sheath. It is enhanced with a cross-shaped belt loop to make sure you can carry it in many different ways. It also contains a firesteel loop.

 Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when you are working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
